New Beginnings
As a military family we move every three to four years. Our chapter in Pensacola ended on September 29th and our chapter in Jacksonville began September 30th. We purchased our very first home that did well with Hurricane Florence, and we are settling in nicely. We've unpacked everything and now we our doing little changes here and there.. my husband painted our bedroom gray and the living room, painted the front door an antique red (so much better then the green!) and we will be painting JJ's bedroom a blue. I am going to attempt to paint or draw captain underpants on his wall after it's done.My husband was able to make a barn style gate to keep little Jaxson from getting into the dining room and kitchen while allowing the cats easy access. Our cat Oreo is getting old and developing arthritis so it makes it difficult to jump over regular baby gates. Jaxson is quite the escape artist, it's hilarious and gives me heart failure at the same time. He definitely has NO FEAR.

He's climbing onto every single thing, it is getting more difficult to baby proof everything. He's got a one track mind too, once he sets his sights on something he's going to conquer it! I love that determination!

I'm really love the area, we are literally 5 minutes from the beach in Surf City! There's a Publix right down the road for all of our grocery and pharmacy needs.. just need to find a Target! I'm having Target withdrawals.

Jaxson Update
Waving.
Jaxson just recently started waving to us, it is absolutely the cutest thing.
High-Five.
My husband taught Jaxson how to high-five last week!
Kisses.
When we ask for kisses, he comes over and brings his forehead down for a kiss.
Babbling.
Jaxson is starting to babble more frequently, still no words but I'll take it!
Shoes.
I put on his dinosaur shoes yesterday at his Sick visit and he was able to walk with them! Definitely progress because he couldn't walk with them at all a couple months ago.
Baby pouches.
He wasn't able to suck the puree out of the pouches a couple months ago either, he would just squeeze it all out. Now, he knows to suck out the puree and to squeeze from the bottom up. If he can't do it himself he will hand it to us to have us do it for him.

I'm so happy for you. Kids are a lot of fun especially when they are learning to talk :)
Glad you guys are getting settled in. I am jealous you have a Publix close by. I never thought I would miss a grocery store until I moved out of Publix territory!
I'm glad to hear that your house made it through Florence unscathed. I'm sure that was super stressful! Fingers crossed that all of Jax's records make it in a timely manner.
Wow, it sounds as if Jaxson is doing just fine through the move. And even better, that he's mastering all sorts of new skills! That climbing-at-the-cords picture took me back to when my youngest figured out climbing, then tried to scale the hutch in the kitchen so she could reach some Cheerios on a middle shelf :0 ...
Wow! great to know that you already settled. and also glad to kno that Jaxon enjoy his new home.
Moving can be such a super stressful time of life. However, looks like you are all settled now which is great xx
You are doing very well. Every moving is always stressful. Glad to see little's Jaxson progress. He is really lucky to have parents like you.
