Our First Flight!

DISCLOSURE: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Boy let me tell you how nervous I was prepping for this flight! I have flown before, many, many times before. I was an Air Force brat who PCS'd every few years, flown with my oldest a couple times... I'm seasoned when it comes to flying.

HOWEVER.. Flying with TWO children and ONE with Special Needs? That had my stomach in knots. I made sure I packed enough snacks of fishies, veggie straws, formula, and packed some toys and my son's Kindle Fire tablet.

I was a sweaty mess when we got to the gate.. got onto the plane and the stewardess looked at me with disbelief and asked: "Do you have anyone to help you?" I shook my head no and kept on trucking to our row of seats at the back of the plane.

I didn't have have time to stop and purchase water after going through TSA so I asked the stewardess for a bottle of water. She gave me a HUGE bottle and recommended that I had something for him to suck on during take off..

Made me even more nervous.

I had his bottle prepped and ready, JJ playing his Kindle Fire, and the plane started to move. Then the plane started going faster and faster.. then the ascend. And you know what Jaxson did? He LAUGHED.

Yes, you read correctly, he LAUGHED.

He even laughed during the DESCEND.

I don't know if it was a fluke or what but I hope our flight back to Florida is a breeze too!

Awww, congratulations GiGi <3 That is exciting! My oldest does great, I flew with him when he was five months old. He did get fussy but giving him the boob/bottle definitely helped! :) You got this!

Aww, I’m glad you had an easy first flight. I wasn’t sure what to expect my first time flying with both boys, but I’ve dont it so many times now it’s no big deal. My oldest screamed during the landing the first time he flew and people were giving me nasty looks. Like I didn’t want to calm him more than anyone else!

I'm glad to hear your flight was easy! We flew my daughter across the country as an infant to get home after a month long NICU stay and that was the easiest thing ever. She loved it. We are going to Flordia in February when she will be newly 2 and hope our experience is as good as yours!

I'm so happy for you that the flight went well!! I fly several times a year with 2 small kids (ages 3 and 1) and let me tell you... it ain't easy!! Sometimes it is super easy and they pig out on cheerios and watch pj masks and sometimes it's like they're possessed!!

That is so sweet! I’m pretty sure most kids scream and cry because of the ear popping. I’m glad it was a good experience!

Hey Stephanie, oh no! People should be more understanding about children and flying -- be more empathetic.

Thank you Charli, it definitely made travel less stressful. I was just nervous going back because our layover was in a big airport -- Charolette, NC.

Glad he had a great flight. Some kids are naturally great travellers. My kids would periodically cry the entire flight. For no clear reason.

Dont you just love it when the small ones do so well on flight? mine was an amazing flyer when he was little, however this last flight made me want to cry.

Wow, that sounds like quite the hectic story. I love to travel, but I hate airports. It's bad enough when I'm doing it myself. I can't begin to imagine being in your shoes. You're a trooper!

What an adorable post! I don't think I few with my kids when they were kids because I just knew I couldn't handle it, my kids were big time crybabies until around 3 years old, ha ha. My mom always said "there's already enough crying children on planes as is." Thanks for sharing! :)
